MG2-A U collar with U/U classification

In addition to the main criteria (EI) for fire resistance, other criteria are added specifically for the fire resistant sealing of evacuation pipes. 

The classification U/U, C/U, U/C or C/C indicates whether the end of the pipes is blocked or not during the fire test. 
The first letter corresponds to the situation in the oven and the second to the situation outside the oven. 
U = Uncapped (pipe end open) 
C = Capped (pipe end closed) 
 
Tests carried out with open pipe ends (U/U) correspond to the most unfavorable situation because the fire can more easily propagate to other compartments due to a chimney effect. 
 
The Belgian directive is applicable for all new construction sites where the sanitary part still needs to be initiated as from 01/12/2016.
